Santen’s presence in Asia Pacific (outside of Japan) dates back to the 1990s. In the beginning, Santen worked with distributor partners to deliver our products to physicians and patients in the region.

Today, Santen has a strong presence in Asia Pacific, with direct operations established in several countries. Santen also works with distributor partners, in countries such as Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia.

As a testament to our continued commitment to investing in Asia Pacific, Santen Group entered a strategic five-year collaboration with the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) in 2017. By combining the capabilities of both organizations in ophthalmic R&D, the collaboration aims to develop new technologies in ophthalmology, with a special focus on the diseases prevalent in the region.
